Fendi CLASSIC FENDI Eau de Toilette Spray 1.7 oz ORIG. Bethco Vintage 1989-1991
A sophisticated survivor from the bold designer fragrance era of the late 1980s and early 1990s, this original Fendi Eau de Toilette captures the rich, luxurious character that established Fendi as one of the decade's signature oriental fragrances. The distinctive architectural bottle, integrated black-and-gold spray cap, warm amber-colored fragrance, and early Bethco Fragrances distribution combine to create a highly desirable collector's example of the original composition.
Available today is this lovely, late 1980s to early 1990s vintage (circa 1989-1991), guaranteed original and authentic, made in France, Fendi Eau de Toilette Spray in a 1.7 oz (50 ml) size by Fendi (Batch Number: 1AJ1; Reference Number: 2862-050). This original Bethco Fragrances, Inc. production was distributed by Parfums Fendi, London (Pre-UPC). The buyer will receive the exact bottle pictured. Condition
This heavy glass bottle remains in excellent vintage condition. The original integrated black-and-gold spray cap is present, and the spray nozzle and intake tube appear clean, indicating very little, if any, use. The front graphics remain sharp and attractive with only light evidence of age and handling. The gold-tone band does have expected age-related oxidation. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description. Why This Bottle Stands Out
This example represents the desirable Bethco Fragrances production period before later licensing and ownership changes. Original Bethco-distributed Fendi bottles have become increasingly difficult to locate and are generally preferred by collectors seeking early production examples of the fragrance.
The bottle retains the original architectural design introduced with Fendi's first women's fragrance and features the desirable Parfums Fendi London distribution markings, early reference number, visible batch code, and French manufacture associated with this production period. Fragrance History
1985: Fendi launches its first women's fragrance, Fendi Eau de Toilette.
1989-1991: This original Bethco Fragrances production is manufactured in France and distributed by Parfums Fendi, London.
Early 1990s: Distribution and packaging gradually evolve as licensing and ownership arrangements change.
2001: Fendi fragrance operations become part of the LVMH fragrance portfolio.
Originally launched in 1985, Fendi is classified as a rich oriental fragrance featuring sparkling bergamot, coriander, galbanum, citrus, and aldehydes over an elegant floral heart of jasmine, rose, carnation, iris, tuberose, and ylang-ylang. The fragrance finishes with a luxurious base of sandalwood, patchouli, amber, civet, oakmoss, musk, benzoin, and vanilla, creating the warm, sophisticated signature that made the original Fendi an icon of luxury perfumery.
