$825.00Price

A colorful survivor from the casual fragrance movement of the early 1970s, this original Blue Jeans cologne by Shulton captures the youthful, sporty character that helped define a new generation of American fragrances. The vibrant contents, distinctive blue cap with decorative patterned insert, and clear glass presentation create an attractive display piece that immediately reflects the era in which it was produced.

Available today is this rare, 1970s vintage, original and authentic Blue Jeans cologne splash in a generous 4 oz (120ml) size by Shulton Inc., Clifton, New Jersey, USA. The bottle retains its original blue cap with decorative patterned insert and features the desirable clear glass construction used on earlier productions. Photos were taken at high magnification to best highlight overall item condition.

This bottle can be ascribed to the 1970s based on its Shulton Inc., Clifton, N.J. 07015 marking, original clear glass bottle construction, blue cap design, and intact decorative paper cap label, all of which are consistent with original Blue Jeans production following the fragrance's 1971 launch and before its discontinuation during the early 1980s. Condition

This bottle remains in excellent vintage condition. The fragile enameled front lettering remains well preserved, and the original paper label affixed to the top cap remains intact. The clear glass bottle displays attractively and avoids a common issue associated with surviving plastic Blue Jeans bottles, where long-term interaction between fragrance and plastic can negatively affect contents over time. Please review all photographs carefully for the most accurate assessment of condition and remaining contents. Collector Notes

Blue Jeans is considerably less common today than many contemporary Shulton fragrances. Because the fragrance remained on the market for a relatively brief period and was often used rather than collected, well-preserved bottles have become increasingly difficult to locate. The distinctive cap decoration and colorful presentation make surviving examples especially desirable for collectors of vintage American men's fragrances. Why This Bottle Stands Out vs. Later Versions

This bottle features the preferred clear glass construction rather than the later colored plastic bottle variations encountered by collectors today. Glass bottles are generally considered more desirable due to their improved long-term preservation characteristics and greater resistance to fragrance degradation associated with aging plastics. Fragrance History

1971: Blue Jeans is introduced by Shulton Inc. as a fresh, youthful fragrance inspired by the growing popularity of casual American fashion and lifestyle trends.

1970s: The fragrance develops a reputation as a clean, sporty scent combining bright citrus notes with soft florals, green accords, and woods.

Early 1980s: Production is discontinued, ending a relatively short but memorable chapter in Shulton's fragrance history.

Today: Original bottles are increasingly sought by collectors of vintage American fragrances and enthusiasts of discontinued men's scents from the 1970s.

Blue Jeans is classified as a fresh aromatic fragrance featuring top notes of aldehydes, bergamot, lemon, and orange; middle notes of lily of the valley and geranium; and base notes of evergreen leaves, patchouli, green notes, oakmoss, sandalwood, and other soft woody accords. Originally launched in 1971, it remains a nostalgic representation of the relaxed American fragrance style that emerged during the decade.
