$675.00Price

A beautiful survivor from the golden age of luxury American perfumery, this original Tiffany eau de parfum captures the sophisticated elegance that helped establish Tiffany & Co. as a serious force in fine fragrance during the late 1980s. The substantial architectural glass bottle, warm amber-colored perfume, and distinctive geometric metallic cap create a striking vanity-display piece that reflects the refined aesthetic associated with the Tiffany name.

Available today is this lovely, confirmed 1980s vintage, new old stock, original and authentic Tiffany eau de parfum splash in a generous 3.4 oz (100ml) size by Tiffany & Co., made in the USA (Reference Number: 001077; Early Embossed Batch Number: R12; Pre-UPC; Pre-double recycle arrows; Original-style base label). Photos were taken at high magnification to best highlight overall item condition. The buyer will receive the exact item pictured.

This bottle can be confidently dated to the late 1980s based on its early embossed batch coding, original base labeling, pre-UPC production, and pre-double recycle arrows packaging characteristics. These details are consistent with the earliest years of Tiffany fragrance production following the fragrance's 1987 launch.

Condition

This bottle remains unused and retains its original contents. Please note that the gold-tone and silver-tone metallic surface portions of the cap exhibit age-related spotting, light scratching, and finish wear, as shown in the photographs. Unfortunately, Tiffany did not design this bottle style to withstand decades of storage and handling, and such cosmetic imperfections are commonly encountered on surviving examples. The glass bottle itself presents beautifully with excellent display appeal. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.

Collector Notes

Early Tiffany fragrance bottles have developed a strong following among collectors due to their elegant presentation and association with one of America's most iconic luxury brands. First-generation examples featuring pre-UPC packaging characteristics are increasingly difficult to locate, particularly in larger 3.4 oz splash formats. Unused examples from the original production period are considerably less common than bottles that have seen regular use, making this an especially desirable piece for collectors of vintage designer fragrances and Tiffany & Co. memorabilia.

Why This Bottle Stands Out vs. Later Versions

This bottle represents the earliest production era of Tiffany eau de parfum and predates later packaging revisions, UPC implementation, and subsequent manufacturing changes. The pre-UPC base, original-style labeling, early embossed batch code, and pre-recycling-symbol production characteristics place it among the earliest surviving commercial releases of the fragrance. Collectors often seek these first-generation examples because they are closest to the fragrance's original launch period and original formulation era.

Fragrance History

1987: Tiffany & Co. launches Tiffany, a luxurious floral fragrance designed to embody the elegance and sophistication associated with the legendary jewelry house.

Late 1980s: The fragrance gains recognition for its rich floral composition and distinctive architectural bottle design.

1990s: Tiffany remains a prominent luxury fragrance while packaging and labeling standards gradually evolve.

2000s: Earlier pre-UPC Tiffany bottles become increasingly desirable among collectors seeking original launch-era examples.

Later Years: Vintage Tiffany fragrances continue to attract collectors due to their association with one of the world's most recognizable luxury brands.

Originally launched in 1987, Tiffany is generally classified as a floral oriental fragrance that balances elegant florals with warm amber and woody undertones. The composition opens with black currant syrup and Italian mandarin before unfolding into a sophisticated floral heart of violet leaf, lily of the valley, orange blossom, ylang-ylang, iris, jasmine, and Damascus rose. A rich base of sandalwood, vetiver, amber, and vanilla provides warmth, depth, and longevity, helping establish Tiffany as one of the signature luxury fragrances of the late 1980s.
