Tester Bottles

Tester bottles were produced for in-store testing rather than for standard retail sale. They usually contain the same fragrance formula as the retail bottle, but may differ in details such as cap style, sprayer, labeling, or the absence of decorative elements. Packaging is often simpler—plain boxes, “Tester” or “Demonstration” markings, or no box at all—because their primary purpose was functional, not gift-ready presentation.

Here you’ll find vintage tester bottles that once lived on counters, back bars, and demonstration trays. People working in the fragrance industry also often received new-in-box or new tester bottles as gratis, so many examples remain unused or very lightly worn. Testers can be an excellent option if you care most about the scent itself and less about full retail packaging, often offering better value than boxed bottles. Any differences from the standard retail presentation, along with fill level and condition, are always noted in each listing so you know exactly what you’re receiving.
