My Story
Ever since my first whiff of the 1960s L’Air du Temps parfum perched on my mother’s ornate vanity tray at age six, I was hooked. She only wore a dab on special occasions, but the memory still lingers today. And thus began my obsession with scent.
Over the decades, I have become a ravenous collector. I also had the privilege of working in the fragrance industry for Halston, Elizabeth Taylor, Houbigant, Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Beverly Hills, and Liz Claiborne Cosmetics.
In the mid‑2000s, I left the corporate world to be a stay‑at‑home mom for my twin girls, who were born later in life. While homeschooling them, I opened an eBay store (Another Time and Place) and some years later an Etsy store (Golden Age Perfumes) as a way of sharing my lifelong love of vintage and antique scents. During this time, I assisted thousands of fellow perfume aficionados searching for long‑discontinued formulations from their past, many reminding them of a dear family member, others of carefree days in their youth.
Some of my fragrance treasures now belong to serious collectors while others reside within major studio props departments, including Paramount, Universal Pictures, and CBS.
My journey has finally evolved into this website, where I can add a bit of my personality, a touch of whimsy, and hopefully delve deeper into the many facets of perfume research and history. Rest assured, every bottle you see here has been personally curated, researched, documented, and photographed by me, so its story is preserved along with its scent.
Thanks for visiting Golden Age Perfumes. I hope you rediscover something unforgettable.
